1 Intro 01:18
2 Alabama Getaway 05:20
3 Promised Land 04:16
4 Peggy-O 07:07
5 Me and My Uncle 02:57
6 Big River 05:21
7 Tennessee Jed 08:21
8 Little Red Rooster 08:31
9 Althea 09:39
10 Let It Grow 12:30
11 China Cat Sunflower 06:15
12 I Know You Rider 07:39
13 Jack Straw 05:33
14 Ship of Fools 08:12
15 Estimate Prophet 11:57
16 Eyes of the World 12:22
17 Drums 06:35
18 Space 06:00
19 Not Fade Away 10:15
20 Black Peter 08:54
21 One More Saturday Night 04:31
22 Bob's Joke 00:24
23 Don't Ease Me In 03:02

What's not to love? High energy just bubbles out of this one. The Althea and Let It Grow in the 1st are amazing. Jack rips it up and the China/Rider is on fire. The band is on and the music is a Tomahawk Cruise Missle of destruction (trying to be topical, if not taseful). Great way to get Monday off on the good foot.

Hope everyone's weekend was eventful and that those involved in the NCAA pool are fairing well.

I thought this was a thread for sophomoric taunts and (homo)sexual innuendo.

1981? A good year?

As "old blue eyes" once said, "It Was A Very Good Year".

Metaphors?

I think this thread really needs...

We know what bombs and missiles do, you halfwit. Just in case SDH is too modest to tell you himself he has a son who has served his country in Iraq. He is entitled to make jokes if he wants to. Not making jokes isn't going to turn back one single bullet. Making jokes makes bad things easier to cope with. Most reasonable people recognize this.

Now take your knee-jerk slogans, jam them up your ass, and fuck right off with all the other humorless dickheads.

My point was that it's not a fucking joke, retard. And I don't give a fuck if the person saying it "served" in another bullshit war. As far as I'm concerned that's just perpetuating violence. Have you learned nothing in you're time on this planet? You think war is funny? You can take your bombs, tomahawk missiles, and stupid ill timed unfunny jokes and shove them up your ass you ignorant prick.

Do two halfwits make a wit?

Evidently not if they're hasher and fireeagle.

I just love it when the peace brigade get all antsy because other people fail to embrace their flawed and po-faced point of view. And somehow in that twisted view finding humor in adversity becomes tantamount to 'perpetuating violence'. You two are the ones that 'just don't get it' with your holier than thou fingerpointing and failure to see past your prejudices to what's actually being said. No one here thinks 'war is funny' and if that's really what you believe then you really do need to pull your head out of that dark place you keep it and start taking a good look around you.

And frankly I think your hypocritical 'peace' sign off is as obnoxious as my 'fuck off' - but at least I mean it.

Are you frickin kidding me?

Grow up. War is not going away any time soon, and I am the guy that scored as Gandhi on the test...we can joke about mental issues but not war? The Irish have lived thru 800 yrs of war and spend most of their time dealing with it by joking about it...sad, but a sense of humor about death is a lot healthier...and yes, there is "just war". Not that I've seen one in a long time, but to say "death" is simply unacceptable as well as off limits for humor is a pretty silly starting pt.

Bombs and missiles kill people, cars kill people, cigarettes kill people, prescription meds kill people, medical malpractice kills people, Nicholas Cage movies kill people, and people kill people.

Where do we draw the line here? I am not in any way belittling the situation over there. Like Rob says, my son has served two tours in a rather nasty place where people were trying to kill him on a regular basis. A little one liner referencing a missile is hardly the same as saying "I like dead people. I really like dead Arabs".

Oh and as for the recognition as "The worst thread ever", thank you, I do what I can.

I submit "con-air" as exhibit 1 on your behalf (think someone already did, but deserves another mention). That one has been on the "movie re-run" channel over the past five yrs more than almost any movie (painfully, I know this)...yikes.

I will admit, having been forced (yes, there was a gun to my head) to watch it a few times, there are a couple of humorous lines via "supporting" cast members (very loosely used), but they're not worth the wait.

Peggy Sue Got Married, good time travel theme, and I think it had a pretty good old fashioned rock and roll soundtrack. But yeah, Cage gets a bad rap for some of his overacting ability. He has made some good films in his days.

Hey, Raising Arizona is a masterpiece! But it's a good point...I can't ever recall ever liking any other Nick Cage movies. Yet I still don't understand why that Con-Air never won any academy awards...is it just me, or with that haircut and wifebeater, anyone else think that's where Scott Stapp got his image from?

Oh no, I said "wifebeater!" Naturally that means I support and encourage husbands beating their wives.

People need to lighten up around here...that said, this is coming from a guy who used to have the Unabomber sketch as my Facebook profile picture.

Yeah, death is bad and all that... Are we so sensitive that eventually we'll just start calling the band "The Grateful" because we don't want any "bad vibes" being caught because of the word "dead?" And I for one cannot stand the way this band glorifies violence and murder with such songs as Me and My Uncle and El Paso. And the direct threat on a police officer in "Candyman?" We really should boycott this band, how can we respect any group with such morals?

"Worst thread ever."

not even close. You're relatively new here, but believe me when I tell there have been MUCH worse.

"Bombs and missles are not a joke. They are killing people as we speak."
.

I don't think you'll get an argument on that point from anyone here. But, as was previously stated, many things kill people. Are all those things(Grateful Dead concerts included) off limits here?

And BTW, as previously pointed out, it is "m-i-s-s-i-l-e-s"

"Wake the fuck up!"

advise that would be beneficial to many around here

"End all war."

"And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet."

Too many human traits have to be overcome, and eliminated, before there will be an end to wars.

in·ter·course
noun \ˈin-tər-ˌkȯrs\
Definition of INTERCOURSE
1 : connection or dealings between persons or groups
2 : exchange especially of thoughts or feelings

Now isn't that exactly what we're doing here?

There is a third meaning, but I don't think that need concern us overmuch. Apart from certain pesky poltroons who can, as it were, intercourse off at their earliest convenience.

I have a friend who lives between the towns "Licking" and "Anutt." She used to say "I live between licking and a nut."

New? Why that's the ancestral homestead. Kind of hard to get to, though. No main streets lead there. You've got to come through more then a few back alleys. And then, you guessed it, don't bother ringing the front door bell, they only answer a pounding out back.

I've got your innuendo right here. Oh, and by the way, the patch goes on the other eye and the parrot should be on your shoulder.

The weekend went rather well and this Monday has been rather un-Monday like in terms of work.

And thanks for the tip of the cap. Much better than a wag of the finger. I mean, who knows where that finger's been? Other than your future sweater and Easter dinner, of course.

Pennsylvanians usually can't resist an opportunity to tell people that we actually have a town called Intercourse. In Amish country, no less.

"whats your line wordsmith? if its *kindly fuck off* then i apologize for using it."

as you should

"take a plain fuck off. suites you better anyway, kid"

"are you blind or just plain stooopid?"(did you mean s-t-u-p-i-d?)

the "wordsmith" is hardly a "kid" and his style is anything BUT plain

Which is going to be more advantageous when times get tough?

I don't know since I never met Jerry garcia and he's 6 feet under I can't say what he'd think or feel. I'm not going to tell you how to feel or react to this post but let's not go to the old standby dead heads say when they don't like something, "What would jerry do/feel" Who the hell knows? Pretty weak.
